100 Gravel Miles

100 Mile riders will start at the Huguenot Memorial Museum in Franschhoek. The journey includes Franschhoek Pass (tar), dirt roads, farm tracks and vineyard trails. There are seven Water Points en route and one Spectator Point at the half way mark. The final welcome and Race village is the spectacular Benguela Cove.

The 50 Mile starts at 10am at 100 Mile half way point (near Caledon). The journey includes dirt roads, farm tracks, and the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. There are four Water Points on this section of the route alone.

King Price Race to the Sea is a point-to-point event, which means some extra planning is needed to get you, your bike, and your gear to the right place at the right time. To make things simple, we've partnered with reliable service providers to help with bike transport, shuttles and vehicle transfers.

Move My Bicycle

Bike transport is available from Gauteng, Durban, and Bloemfontein for riders participating in the 100-miler only. Drop your bike off at one of the locations and we’ll make sure your bike arrives at the start line in Franschhoek.

From Gauteng to the start line of both the 100-Miler and 50-Miler. Drop-off points are available in Pretoria and Johannesburg, with a convenient door-to-door service option.

If you’d like your vehicle waiting for you at the finish line, vehicle transfers are available from Franschhoek to Benguela Cove. This is a convenient option, especially for solo riders or those without support crews.

Entries & Registration

Pre-registration will take place on Friday, 5 September at the Huguenot Memorial Monument, Franschhoek, from 13:00 – 17:30.

Alternatively, you can register on the morning of the event, 6 September 2025. Registration for the 100 miler opens at 06:00 at Huguenot Memorial Monument, Franschhoek. Registration for the 50 miler is at Wolwekraal starting at 09:00.

At registration, we will confirm your entry with your name and surname or Pursuit Timing Board. Please bring your Pursuit board to registration. If you do not have a Pursuit board, you can buy one at registration for R60.

The Pursuit Timing Board is a compulsory device used at all race distances to ensure your results are captured accurately. Without it, your time cannot be recorded.

Every rider must have a new Pursuit Timing Board with a QR code. You can:

Order your board online through Howler and collect it at registration on race day.
Or, purchase a board directly at registration.

At registration, your board will be allocated to you. If you ordered one online, it will be ready for collection and linked to your race number.

Upon arrival at the venue, our registration staff will scan the QR code on your badge. If you do not yet have a board, they will look up your entry by your name and surname, so please ensure your registration details are correct.

After the race, you can view your results and race index on our Pursuit Portal: https://www.pursuit.africa/#/dashboard/my-results

You can log in to your Howler account and log in using the email address you used to purchase the ticket.

Find your ticket: Locate and click on the "Tickets" tab.

Initiate the transfer: Click the three dots (⋮) next to the ticket you want to transfer.

Enter recipient details: Please provide the necessary information for the person you're transferring the ticket to.

Confirm and pay: Review the details, confirm the transfer, and pay the transfer fee (if applicable).

Race Day

100Miler:

Riders can book the vehicle transfer service on the entry portal.
Riders who have booked the vehicle transfer service must drop their vehicles off at the Vehicle Transfer Drop Zone at the NG Kerk in Franschhoek, 29 Huguenot Road, Franschhoek, Western Cape, 7690, South Africa.
Please remember to hand in your keys at the vehicle transfer gazebo in the parking area.
Your vehicle will be transferred to the Finish where you can collect the keys again.

50 Miler:

Riders who have booked the vehicle transfer service must park their vehicles off at the Vehicle Transfer Parking at Wolwekraal.

Your vehicle will be transferred to the Finish, where you can collect the keys again.

Shuttles are available for both the 100-Miler and 50-Miler, and will transfer riders with their bikes either to the start in the morning or back to the start venue after the race.
