Route Update & Important Safety Notice for 50-Miler Riders

  • Riders participating in the 50-Miler event will merge with the 100-Miler group at Water Point 3 (WP3), located at Wolwekraal Farm. This is approximately the halfway mark for the 100-Miler competitors, so expect some overlap and increased rider traffic from this point onward. Please exercise courtesy and caution as you join the shared route.
  • From WP3, all riders will follow the same scenic yet challenging route toward the Finish at Benguela Cove, supported by four well-stocked water points along the way. These stations will offer hydration, energy snacks, and basic mechanical support to keep you fueled and moving strong.

Please note: There will be no complete road closures and riders are urged to obey all traffic rules at all times. There will be marshalls at all main intersections who will assist riders in crossing the roads safely. However, it remains every rider’s responsibility to remain vigilant for road traffic and vehicles.

Important: Bee Farms Along the Route

The route winds through areas near active bee farms. While bees are generally non-aggressive, riders with known bee sting allergies are strongly advised to carry an EpiPen or other prescribed emergency allergy medication with them at all times. Safety personnel and medics will be stationed along the course, but early personal preparedness is critical in remote areas.
