Start Times
Please arrive 50 minutes before your start time. Please note that Franschhoek Pass will be closed from 6:30am to 9:00am. There are planned road works on Franschhoek Pass that might affect the traffic (stop and go). Please use the alternative route through Stellenbosch.

Vehicle Transfer Drop-Off Zone
- Riders who have booked the vehicle transfer service must drop their vehicles off at the Vehicle Transfer Drop-off Zone located at the NG Church (NG Kerk), Franschhoek.
- Please remember to hand in your keys at the vehicle transfer gazebo.
- Your vehicle will be transferred to the Finish, at Benguela Cove where you can collect your car and keys.
Bag Drop
- Drop your bag at the Bag Drop Area after registration.
- Bags will be taken directly to the finish for collection and can be picked up at the King Price Gazebo.
- You can pack a bag with a change of clothes, a towel and toiletries if you wish to take a quick shower after the race.
Route
Start your ride with the stunning 7 km climb up the Franschhoek Pass. The route then winds past Theewaterskloof Dam, through Caledon and the Hemel en Aarde Valley, and finishes at the beautiful Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate in Hermanus.
Please note: There will be no complete road closures and riders are urged to obey all traffic rules at all times. There will be marshalls at all main intersections who will assist riders in crossing the roads safely. However, it remains every rider’s responsibility to remain vigilant for road traffic and vehicles.
Important: Bee Farms Along the Route
The route winds through areas near active bee farms. While bees are generally non-aggressive, riders with known bee sting allergies are strongly advised to carry an EpiPen or other prescribed emergency allergy medication with them at all times. Safety personnel and medics will be stationed along the course, but early personal preparedness is critical in remote areas.

Water Points
Every water point will serve water, Pepsi, bananas, PVM Octane and PVM gels & bars. There will be tech zones at each water point operated by Specialized or Liqui Moly.
WP1 | 27.5 km

- Hawston View farm, just before Botriver.
- There will be toilet facilities.
WP3 Wolwekraal Farm | 66.4 km
- Halfway & official spectator point, with a buffet of food on offer.
- There will be toilet facilities.
- The cut-off at WP3 is @ 12h30
WP4 Caledon | 91.3 km
- There will be toilet facilities.
- Official cut-off time @ 14:00
WP5 De Hoek farm | 117 km
- There will be toilet facilities.
WP6 Hasher Family Farm | 138 km

WP7 Escape Wines | 150 km
- A pop-up water point with a few yummy surprises that will be at Escape Wines, 5km before the finish.
- Be sure to stop and enjoy bubbles and boeries while admiring the stunning view.

Cut-Off Times & Locations
- There will be three locations where cut-offs will be enforced.
- The cut-off at WP3 is @ 12h30
- The cut-off at WP4 is @ 14:00
- The cut-off at WP6 is @ 17:00
Spectators Supporting at Halfway (WP3)
WP3 is the official spectator point where supporters can cheer on riders.
How to get there:
Access the venue via the R406 turnoff on the N2 (not from Boontjieskraal Rd).
From the R406 direction Greyton, turn left onto Middelplaas Rd, then immediately left again onto Donkerhoek Rd, which leads directly to WP3.
Follow these directions to Wolwekraal Farm.
Parking:
Please park only in the designated parking area.
Note that the ground may be wet or muddy after rain. If you are unsure your vehicle can manage, rather park along the district road leading to the venue. Make sure not to block any farm traffic.
Technical and Medical Assistance
- A sweep vehicle will follow the last rider to the finish.
- Various bike marshalls and medical services will be patrolling the route assisting riders to reach the finish safely.
- There will be tech zones at each water point operated by Specialized or Liqui Moly.

Race Rules
- King Price Race to the Sea is a CSA sanctioned event; CSA race rules will apply. The race will be on gravel and public tar roads. Please keep to the left of the road and obey all traffic rules on public roads at all times.

Finish & Results
Once you cross the finish line at Benguela Cove, head to the gazebo to collect your medal and finisher t-shirt. Then relax and celebrate with a meal and drink at the venue.

Prize-giving
- Prize-giving will be as follows:
- 13:30 - Elite Men & Women
- 14:00 - Age Categories & 50-Miler
- Your category will be called to the podium if the first three riders in that category have crossed the finish line by the set time.
