Race to the Sea was made for the adventurer, solo rider, team player or relay rider.

2020 RACE OPTIONS

The race can be done by means of the following. No under 18s allowed:

Solo Rider

R900 per person

The dedicated individual cycling at your own pace, just you, your bike, the road and endurance.

Teams

R1800 for Two 

The race can be enjoyed by enthusiastic teams of two motivating one another to endure until the end.

Relay Teams

R1600 for Two 

The race can be enjoyed by relay teams of two. First half of the team will ride the first 85km and the second the rest of the distance.

E-Bikes

R900 per person 

The race can be enjoyed on a e-bike as a solo rider or relay teams of two. First half of the team will ride the first 85km and the second the rest of the distance.

SOLO RIDERS & TEAMS

Solo riders or teams of two, will start at Huguenot Memorial Museum in Franschhoek. The journey will stretch over 162km, across tar sections, dirt roads and vineyards.  Riders can expect five water points on route and one spectator point. A family member will have to take your vehicle to Benguela Cove and enjoy the day there, or stop at the spectator point to cheer you along.

RELAY TEAMS

Rider One takes on the solo journey for the first 85km and meets Rider Two at the halfway waterpoint. Team mates will drop off   Rider One at Huguenot Memorial Museum in Franschhoek and drive  to the halfway waterpoint. Here  Rider Two will await their team Rider One as they journey on the first 85km. Rider Two will then take over the relay and finish the rest of the route.  Rider One will proceed to Benguela Cove where they will be awaited by their Teammate.

Helmets Are Compulsory

No Riders Under 18 Years Old

Do Not Litter

No Outside Assistance Allowed

No Vehicles Allowed On The Route

No Drafting Behind Vehicles
